In celebration of World EV Day 2022, we have spoken to some of our ENWCML team members who have already made, or are in the process of transitioning to EV.
As we all strive towards Net Zero, we were really excited to find out how they have found the transition so far, if they’re enjoying it and if they have any advice for any potential purchasers.
With more and more people making the transition to EV, it’s important that businesses are also ready to accommodate this. At ENWCML, our electric vehicle experts can help you by creating and delivering a suitable EV strategy for your business. We can also support you with individual vehicles and charging points through to end-to-end fleet solutions, depending on your requirements.
Take a read of our team’s personal EV experiences below and get in touch if you want to find out more about how we can help you with your own EV solution.

- What was the main reason for your conversion to an electric car? Cost savings and moving with the times

- Do you always find a charging point when you need one? I am a bit nervous about the power getting too low, so I have not had a problem where I really need a charger so to date I have been fine either charging at home or in the office. The odd time I have plugged into external, mainly supermarkets which are hit or miss if there is a bay available
- Have you noticed a reduction in cost from when you were driving an ICE vehicle? Massively, I was putting in c £120 of petrol a week, this has dropped to possibly around that a month additional on my home energy bill.
- What’s the furthest that you’ve ever driven in your electric car? Did you have to research and plan where to stop to charge your vehicle on route? I have driven to the NEC and back on one charge making it home with over 30% left so didn’t stop or charge. I have also driven to Malton, North Yorkshire to my dad’s house, and used his garage domestic plug socket to charge overnight.
- Would you choose an electric car again? Definitely, I am also looking a changing my wife’s car to a PHEV, 90% of her journeys are under 20 miles so the battery would cover this but then we go camping in the lakes or wales we would have the engine to pick up the slack.
